Its 10 am. Its cold and windy outside. There is hardly any SUN. Well it's not because of pollution, but its like that. We hardly get any sunlight during December. I was surfing through the internet and a piece of news caught my attention. It was the climate forum in Copenhagen. I had heard about similar type of forum back in 1997 something in Kyoto. I was just curious about this and started looking for more details on it. What exactly is meant by climate change? Does it mean that the naturally occurring phenomena in the environment could be/will be /might be altered to cause an unnatural phenomena in the coming future? This change in the environment will kill us all? I don’t know.

I like soy sauce especially when it is used in WOK. I browsed with the help of ''dr google'' about soy sauce. If there is anyone who knows everything other than GOD then its ''dr google'' he he he… So dr google gives me an answer stating that soy sauce is made from soya beans. Well, its so simple. My curiosity would not stop here. I looked again and again. Soy sauce is the main ingredient in Asian cooking and its spreading in the western world too... They use this for literally everything. Why not? I pondered. Its such a good sauce and mixes with every known vegetable and meat like ice in an ice cream. Hmmm….

Well, I just got more curious about this little soya beans. I mean how many people consume it around the world? I looked for it again. Dr google gives me an answer: A huge number hundereds of millions of them. I said WoW! So many. I am not the only one! Just for the sake of curiosity I went to the nearby supermarket to find out if they have soya sauce. They had it! I went to another one. They also had it! And another. They had it! That proves it! Its after all what makes the food eatable and also it flavours very well, so well that we get addicted to it! Ahhh… this human senses. To start again from where I left: So there are hundreds and millions of them who are consuming the soyasauce. But how is it possible to feed these many? Is it because of the diligence efforts made by the supermarkets and companies to procure this item no matter what? But how is it possible to produce so much amount of soyabeans to make so much soysauce? My curiosity took me to another level. I started to look for the countries who produced the most soyabeans. And there you go it was U.S! No wait.. its not! Its brazil No way! I could not get a clear idea of what going on. So I consulted some experts in economy. This is what they had to say. The consumption of soysauce had increased so much in china in the past decade that china is no longer able to produce the required quantity of soyasauce to feed the population. It outsources the production of soyabeans to Argentina & Brazil and brazil in turn becomes the largest exporter of soyabeans to china. Also the biggest grower of soyabeans, the US supplies the soyabeans to Mc Donalds... Hmmmm….. there you go. But why brazil? Is it because they have lot of land for growing crops! I asked the expert again. He said the soyabeans need hot summer and fertile land to grow, ideally river basins and need continuous flow of water for nitrogen fixation. India is not a big consumer of soya sauce and also the river basins are used for growing paddy and wheat and other crops. Also India is able to produce enough to feed its people with the available land. Hence it will not allow its land to grow other types of crops. And US is now growing crops for exporting it to Mc Donalds and other crops for making biofuel! I wonder if the people will eat burgers drink fuel in the near future… Anyways, so that makes brazil a good alternative for China!

Good. Now brazil is happy to produce soyabeans for the Chinese and the Americans as long they are stuffed with currency. But at what cost? At the cost of the rainforest! Enormous amounts of lands are being cleared to produce this single crop. The rainforest is thinning down every minute, the insects are disappearing rapidly. Animals are pushed to a very small area. Species are being extinct in this process. Trees which maintain carbon dioxide cycle are reducing day by day. So what? As long as I get to eat my WOK with soya sauce, I am happy. Do I need to get alarmed simply because one species of insect which is neither a distant relation of mine nor my ancestor gets disappeared on the face of the earth? Or Do I need to get alarmed because of my action of consuming soya sauce that makes the insects and species disappear? Well, insects’ play a very vital role in the ecosystem. They have a very special place in the ecosystem. They keep the balance of this ecosystem by pollinating plants which inturn bears fruits. Which means the soya plants can produce soya beans because of these insects! There you go…

I sit in my cosy sofa: a leather covered quilt stuffed thing, with my laptop in hand, typing this little piece of article which no one will read. I tend to imagine few things. Things about my future, about my childrens future and their childrens future. How will my children live without soy sauce, could they adapt to tomatoes instead? Few happy and shiny people will get together in Copenhagen to decide how the soyabean plants have to be grown so that I still get my portion of soy sauce without affecting the insects, animals, plants, water, CO2, etc which in turn will decide my future and my kids future and their future. Oh! My God. Our forefathers should not have put these happy and shiny people into this mess! It’s a huge burden.

May be we should start thinking about how to grow soyabeans in MARS!

/Gatty

March ,2006. Ind vs Eng in India. 3 tests and 7 ODI's. First test played during March(1-5) happened to be a draw. Second test played during march (9-13) Ind bt Eng by 9 wickets. Third and Final Test, march 18 -22 Eng bt Ind. Very Very dismal performance by the giant Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. He was right under the scanner of 1billion Indians and a committee of few baboons...

On March 26, 2006 an article was put here. Exactly 2 years back... Overwhelming response to sachin indicated that he was here to stay. Now, its march 26, 2008. India is back from Australian series writing of a comprehensive victory... Now dare talk about sachin's removal..!!! what a turn over of events... that's the trait "i would say" of a master...

Take a look at his records.

1. IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING "..................

Here's a little tit bit which i borrowed form wikipedia

"....In commemorating Sachin Tendulkar's feat of equaling Don Bradman's 29 centuries in Test Cricket, automotive giant Ferrari invited Sachin Tendulkar to its paddock in Silverstone on the eve of the British Grand Prix (23 July 2002) to receive a Ferrari 360 Modena from the legendary F1 racer Michael Schumacher. On <st1:date ls="trans" month="9" day="4" year="2002" st="on">September 4, 2002</st1:date> India's then finance minister Jaswant Singh wrote to Sachin telling him that the government will waive custom's duty imposed on the car as a measure to applaud his feat. However the rules at the time stated that the customs duty can be waived only when receiving an automobile as a prize and not as a gift. It is claimed that the proposals to change the law (Customs Act) was put forth in Financial Bill in February 2003 and amended was passed as a law in May 2003. Subsequently the Ferrari was allowed to be brought to India without payment of the customs duty (Rs 1.13 Crores or 120% on the car value of Rs 75 Lakhs). When the move to waive customs duty became public in July 2003, political and social activists protested the waiver and filed PIL in the Delhi High Court. With the controversy snowballing, Sachin offered to pay the customs duty and the tab was finally picked up by Ferrari. Tendulkar has been seen taking his Ferrari 360 Modena for late-night drives in Mumbai...."

Your blogger
Gattz

*Courtesy cricbuzz and wikipedia

TIGER (1900 - 2018) Humans ( 100 more years??)

Tigers Tigers little star

How i wonder what you are

Up above the walls so high

besides monalisa there u lie.

One fine day, i switched on the TV to hear the news at 9.... major TV channels featured briefings of count. Only 1411 left in INDIA. I frankly do not know how many hearts did stop hearing this news...Whatever the numbers be... its NOT million!!!! There were plenty of discussions and debates on tigers on various channels... sometimes i feel... we are good at debating.. we talk a lot... we express excellent ideas..views...rules...pinpoint the problem.. but y does it all boil down to "YOU DO IT" attitude... We do wake up when there is a crisis... thank god.. our FM did announce some relief... well better late than never..

After few years, there will only be 1 tiger left: Tiger Pataudi... we love tiger brand... tiger biscuit, tiger balm, tiger this...tiger that....but what's the point??? i feel govt(if we all see as the last institution of hope) has to introduce a bill which asks royalty for using tiger as a brand... Hmmm... what's wrong???

Well, given few more years to live, tigers will only be found in cages. As is the fate of White tigers. I dedicate this article to the majestic, wild, solitary cats; in the hope that some one in some corner of the world, somewhere in time would find out that the author did live along in tiger times. Valmik thaper did give the time frame of 5 more years under the present trend... but i am little bit more optimistic...( with due respect to the tiger icon).. and give 10 more years in wild. 5 or 10... doesn't matter... what's left is meager amount... a rupee coin in millionaire's hand... What a shame!!!... Shame on us!!! .....Balinese and javan tigers are extinct.. many species of animals are being extinct.. the last wild white tiger was shot in 1958... search "tiger"...find out more...

one of my friend says "All human wisdom is summed up in 3 words wait and hope". So let's wait and hope.

=
Hope that even humans take little bit more time to get extinct. Sounds interesting?? or cruel?? whatever... it is time that we see the light at least at the end...

Let's concentrate on the article below ( with due credit to the author:ronald bailey):

'Sustainability of Demographic Progress Around the World'

".. total fertility rates (TFRs) are plummeting around the world. Population stability is achieved when each woman bears an average of 2.1 kids over the course of her lifetime—one for her, one for her male partner, and a little overage to make up to childhood deaths. Today, there are sixty countries in which TFRs are below 2.1. For example, the European Union's TFR is 1.5 and no EU member state has a TFR at replacement or above. Even high population developing countries have seen steep declines in fertility. Since 1970, China's TFR fell from 5.8 to 1.6; India's from 5.8 to 2.9; Indonesia from 5.6 to 2.4; Japan's from 2.0 to 1.3; Mexico's from 6.8 to 2.4; Brazil's from 5.4 to 2.3; and South Africa's from 5.9 to 2.7. The U.S. TFR dropped from 2.55 in 1970 to around 2.1 today, largely because of the influx of higher fertility immigrants. However, the fertility of second generation Americans drops to the level of longer established Americans.."

Even though only one variable is presented TFR there are 7 other variables which determines the population increase/decrease.. If someone does math on it.. well he can give exact number of years for human existence... truth is bitter but its truth... we may not be there till then but whoever is ...IS HUMAN.... call it demographic winter.. or population plummet... its only a matter of time...

Well... that's it.

Gattz

PS: for more info please do a search on the above topic and read the article by David A Plane.

Imagine

Happy New Year!

So the TaTa's are out with nano. The one lakh car. And the Aussies seems to be getting their own medicine. The art of "Mental Disintegration". The PM's in China. The 'White color" of communism and the stock market crossed 21k barrier..Yeh dil mange more!!!

What a wonderful start to 2008.

So this blog comes after a long long time of hibernation. Well, let me keep this short. This blog will highlight few predictions which i think will mark a revolution or rather a new beginning in the Indian market.

1. Sensex - 30k.
On dec 10 2006 swaminathan predicted this "six years from now, I would expect to see the Sensex touch at least 30,000."

Its 14th jan 2008 and the sensex is already 21k and flying..... do u see 30k at the end of the year? well i can see it.

Sorry swaminathan your prediction was too realistic!!!

2. The Great Mobile slow down.

With the PDA's entering the market and the internet service providers giving the connections at the speed of light and the VOIP catching its space.... i imagine the business of telecom service providers going south wards. So "connecting people " would be much more easier using VOIP. Just Imagine........

3. Wireless Connectivity.

Ofcourse we are 1o yrs behind any developed country when it comes to wireless connectivity. But i see this gap closing down this year. Proof??...(Just Imagine..) Oh! its a bird! no its a plane!! No its wireless.... the next era of supercomputing will go wireless....

4. Lights! Camera! Power....

With the growing demand for power in india its obvious that we have to keep the CFL lamps burning and the mouse button clicking..... on cricbuzzzzzzzzz.com..... The solution? Obvious Increase the power production. There you go!!! Just go and buy the IPO... and become a millionaire.. just Imagine. Well no Enron this time i believe....

5. The China Effect.

The Himalayas are no more a barrier. With PM in China..the side effect is positive. Increase in Manufacturing sector would be a feel good factor for us and not for US. Well, the border issue is only for distraction. Go PM Go !!! The lefts have gone bankrupt!!!

just imagine more billions pouring in!!!

Just Imagine!

Gattz

Sweet Summer Sands

Gatty, as you all know, is taking a well deserved vacation in rural India. After trotting through the globe from the rustic university town of Bologna, Italy to the enigmatic Amsterdam and all places in between, he is now cooling his heals, body, head and eyes in that chick-infested town of Manipal.

This is how his typical day looks like. He wakes up in the morning to the sound of chirping birds, having their lunch time argument, in that grand old mango true in his yard. Flashback to the good old days when a bunch of waste fellows (aka mukku, gote, bryan alias up-go-dum-blue, thambi, prash and thambi's arch nemesis Macha) used to gang up in the yard, picking up raw mangoes from that grand old tree, eating it like refugees from Somalia and shouting at the top of their voices. Of course, they never gave a thought to the fact that, gatty's great-grand father had planted that tree, hoping to live for ever, watching over his future generations.

Well, the protagonist of our story is not one made of branches and leaves, but our electrical engineer, who by now has woken up and slowly, but surely completing his morning ablutions. Now his stomach rumbles and he ambles, scratching, towards the kitchen. As a force of habit, he tries to reach out to whatever is lying on a plate there. Here he is reminded of how he used to go into his kitchen in the italian town, pick up slices of bread lying around and stuff his mouth. This was, of course, before he became a master chef cooking all things Italian, right from pasta, macaroni and such dishes whose names remain forever unpronounceable to our south Indian tongue.

He is brought back to the present by a sharp pain shooting all over his knuckles. He looks aghast. The pain is the result of a sharp rap from his mother, who is busy cooking in the kitchen. Then he realizes that he is reaching out for raw fish, which has been nicely sauntered with chilly paste and other secret ingredients. This now means a delicious, mouthwatering (slurp!) fish curry rice meal. That brings a smile on our hero's face and he ambles back to the living room towards that window to the world, that piece of metal and plastic, the ubiquitous PC.

(...to be continued. Watch this space for more adventures of gatty or in brian's alien language, mattre mattre gattre gattre!!)

Vignette

Its been a long wait for me.. to write something... Anyways.. i have tried a new approach of writing out here.. Its quite new experience to me and also it was fun.. I took care not to make the article Long... Blogs should be quick read types..isn't it?..Lets Start..

Scene 1: (In My room) Sunday 8th July

Its 1:15 just had breakfast...milk with oats, one big peach and choclate... I just derived an equation for the potential of a cylindrical well using cylindrical co-ordinates. The mathematica says its a transdental equation....which means.. there is no solution!!! What the %&$£!! i have to re-check.. this third order PDE is eating my brain...Wish i had concentrated more... during my UG.... Meanwhile..

(Flashback..)

MIT EE,b Section ... Maths class.. (Don't remember the name of the classroom... Probably one of those NLOOOOOOO1's....)

A Sheshappa rai's lecture.... "whats the answer"... I was wondering where the question is???

Scene 2: (PAM SuperMarket)

i enter with the basket..wear the plastic glove..i see that peach is selling for 1.69 euros, bannana 2euros (for 6), kiwi again 2euros for 4, cherries 6euros for a kilo... i take 200gms of cherries,6 bananas,4 peach (Nice peach could eb useful for breakfast) ,4 oranges..move on to the vegetable section, take tomatoes, onions, potatoes, mushrooms, chillies( there are 2 types...sweet one and the hot one..),a packet of peas, Rice, sphagetti...milk..oats.. thats the ration for 1 week.. and i go to the billing counter.. the lady there scans all the items and says 21 euros...i pay the bill and bring the items to my residence... its very hot..my T-shirt is wet.. i wish i was in a cool place... probably a place were we get to grab a glass of beer or somethin' (Pub!!) ....... Meanwhile...

(Flash back )
MIT Mess....

The place were "______________" ... Can't find the right words... i take chicken breast, palav,rice.. some curry... and finally ice cream.... Our Swami's in lungi's...serving the ice-cream...and our charlie mathegaswamy.. asks for more.. Yeh dil maange more..

Scene 3: (Residence.)

Me in my residence chatting with Nicole... meanwhile.. My mobile rings....

Me :"Hello.."
XXXX :"Hey ..its Toni."
Me :" Hey Hi..How are you man,.."
Toni :" Fine...What about beer?"
Me :" Sure..What about Florian? is he coming?"

So we decided to meet in Irish pub along with Florian... i ask for a Guinness draught.. and they go for a blonde beer..( I think it was HARP and Tennent's)

Incidentally, Football match was being played that day..we took our seats in front of the TV..this Toni was harping about the incident that he experienced in Japan... he said a girl came and kissed him on the lips.. and next day he found sleeping with her... i took a big sip of the beer... Mmmm quite a story..i said... and our Florian who hardly opens his mouth (as if lightning stuck him..)..says few words.. which we listen carefully... He was telling that in germany when it snows... the snow makes up about half a meter..we were curious.. as to how they would make about their daily lives in winter..

Anyways, the football game got over. We set overselves into a disco tech... this time to 'Transylvania'...There are 2 guards standing at the entrance... We go inside and wait at one more entrance..the guy there gives us an entry ticket.. we then take the stairs down (Underground).. A band is playing the cover of Guns and roses... we go to the drinks counter and i take Rum cola...and the bartender gives me the exit pass....all of us take a seat and the table is designed in such way that is looks like a coffin with glass cover and deadbody(skeleton) inside.. they say that there used to be a BOA... there.. quite transylvania types...we sip and sip waiting for something to happen.... the band finishes the show and the Dj takes over pumping heavy metal... ''Now thats more like it'' ... i say and we hit stage...

Its 2:00 in the morning...devastated... we head towards a plaza...(Open place...in front of the church)..from there toni and florian heads back home... i meet Nicole. she, prepares a joint..which she had bought few days ago.. from a pusher...she has this small instrument for making cigarettes... she prepares a beautiful joint... i haven't seen such a beautiful joint..anywhere... even our macha is not so skilled in preparing..what he calls BOB... By the time we finish off... its already 4 in the morning... i'm totaly blown...

Scene 4: (The travel..)

Its 8 in the morning... the train is at 9:30.. I call up ryan... he is still on the way.. Meanwhile we have already reached the station..its 9:15.. The big board says the train stops at platform 2...We are still waiting for ryan.. Its 9:20.. He appears in front of the counter and we rush towards the platform 2... " and we run and we run to catch up with the sun that is sinking..." So there we are in platform 2 at about 9:25 am... its strange.. there is no train... there.. we thought we saw the platform number right... its 9:29.. we ask the TT as to were this platform is.. he said its platform 2........ 'West' what the HECK!! now where is west???..incidentaly we were standing on east platform.. Now who the bloody hell knew there had 4 directions for a single platform.. Anyways... again " and we run and we run to catch up with the sun that is sinking.." its 9:32 we could see the sun sinking...right in front of us... we missed the train to PISA.... after 3 hrs... we were standing in front of 'leaning tower of PISA ' one of the worlds wonder...

Scene 5:(Pablo's Party...)

He had invited me to come at 2:00 in the afternoon... its 6pm.. i leave the lab and walk towards my residence... it takes me 20 min to reach. Pablo's doing his research in physics... specialization in material structure, he could cook very good 'Tortilla' (A kind of Omlette with potatoes and onions), and now he is completing his intership here in bologna and returning to Valencia,Spain. He plays good football, and always wants to keep me covered..( cause he thinks i play better than him)... Now i am standing near him with a drink in my hand called 'Sangria' a typical drink from spain.. its nothing but full of wine with fruits and water... i go around and meet some friends... i caught an eye with a girl there.. she speaks french and little bit of italian..and she was curious with the culture of india..etc etc.. went on and on for about half an hour.. i took her number and asked if she could show me around paris..

(FlashForward)

Somewhere in france....Its early morning...i come out of my house and i see kids playing in the lawn... she asks me something in french...i said i just had breakfast...

I walk around and meet this guy called Sirius.. he is from Milan.. He is studying economy by the way..he was belting statistics about india..and said that India is already there.. i asked him where??.... he said it has beaten all of europe. and is already there.. i once again asked him clamly..Where??...he said in the next 10 yrs..India will lead the world in all fields..and its already there.. i give him a cup of sangria and ask him where??...he was pointing his finger to the sky... India is growing at the rate of 8%...and by 2020 we will beat everyone in the planet......comfortably.

When India opened its economy in 1991, leftists warned that uncompetitive Indian companies would be killed or swallowed up by multinationals. Fifteen years later, the shoe is on the other foot: Indian companies are taking over giant multinationals.

In 2006, Indian companies raised $ 19 billion from global markets to finance foreign takeovers and internal expansion. This far exceeded the inflow of foreign direct investment (around $ 10 billion).

India has once again leapfrogged the conventional path of economic growth. Countries normally succeed in manufacturing exports before succeeding in services, but India leapfrogged to stunning success in services first. Countries normally attract large amounts of foreign investment before venturing abroad themselves, but here too India has leapfrogged into massive investment abroad without waiting for massive foreign investment in India.

The biggest takeover story of 2006 was Tata Steel’s bid to take over Britain’s Corus (the outcome is still awaited). There is a delicious historical twist in this. When Jamsetji Tata first proposed to manufacture steel a century ago, Sir Frederick Upcott, head of the Railways, was so contemptuous of Indian capabilities that he undertook to eat every ounce of steel that Tata could produce.

One century later, Tata Steel is set to take over the whole British steel industry (which is part of Corus). Sir Frederick Upcott must be turning in his grave. The empire has struck back with a vengeance.

How can Tata afford to buy Corus, which is thrice its size? Because global financiers are happy to lend Tata $ 8 billion, confident that it will do a better job than the current British owners. The Corus management itself agrees, and has backed Tata’s bid.

This is the real revolution of 2006. India has left behind the stage of being seen as a global supplier of software, generic drugs and auto components. It is now seen as a global managerial power, one that can take over multinationals across the world and improve their performance. So, global financiers are tripping over one other to fund foreign acquisitions by Indian companies.

This new Indian image owes much to Lakshmi Mittals’ success in acquiring and turning round steel plants in many continents, becoming global number one in steel. His key managers are mostly Indians. Their success has established Indian managerial capabilities in steel as being superior to American and European ones.

But Mittal is not an isolated example. Virtually every top Indian company in software, pharmaceuticals and auto has acquired foreign companies or set up greenfield factories abroad. I don’t want to bore readers with the full list of Indian acquisitions in 2006, but here are some prominent examples.

Tata Tea acquired US energy drinks manufacturer Energy Brands for $ 677 m. Dr Reddy’s Labs acquired Betapharm of Germany for $ 570 m. Suzlon acquired Eve Holdings of Belgium to become one of the world’s top manufacturers of windmills. Ranbaxy acquired Romanian pharmaceutical producer Terapia for $ 324 m. Tata Coffee acquired US company Eight o’Clock Coffee for $ 220 m.

Medium Indian companies have rushed into foreign acquisitions no less than big ones. Bharat Forge has acquired half a dozen companies in the US and Europe and become global number two in automotive forgings. It hopes to become number one by 2008. Amtek Auto would like to become number one in castings, Jain Irrigation in drip irrigation and sprinklers, Sundaram Fasteners in industrial fasteners. Essel Packaging took over Switzerland’s Propack some years ago to become global number one in laminated tubes (used for packaging toothpaste and cosmetics).

Many medium Indian companies (eg. Havells, Bharat Forge, Wockhardt) have managed to raised billions abroad for unspecified takeovers at some future date. India Inc. has acquired such a good image that it matters less and less which Indian company is raising finance, for what purpose and in which country. Global finance is willing to back Indians to take over the world.

Till recently, Indian businessmen were terrified of competing with China. But now a dozen Indian companies including Mahindra, Infosys and Sundaram Fasteners are investing in China, confident of beating the Chinese in their home ground. Essel Propack has long been number one in China.

The world now believes that Indians are excellent managers, better than those in several American and Eruropean countries. What used to be the biggest companies in the world, General Motors and Ford, today have a credit rating far lower than that of Tata, Birla, Reliance and other Indian groups. Indian companies can raise cheap international finance to acquire ailing American giants, but not the other way round. Hundreds of Indian companies have become MNCs with growing empires.

This is only the beginning of the great Indian takeover. Indian companies should aim for the sky over the next two decades. I look forward to the day when ICICI Bank takes over Citibank ; when Infosys acquires IBM: when Reliance takes over Exxon; and Tata Motors takes over General Motors.*

Its you guys out there making us proud... Why wait till 2020? ... 5yrs down the line and briton would be eating from our hands...

Gattz

* courtesy swaminomics

Silhouette

....The wait was worth it... isn't it?

The temp is 9 deg and dropping..It takes me around 10 min to walk from my room to the lab. (Outside?)

Me: Si..(Yes..)
(People generally prefer to take a quick drink inside the bar...and ofcourse chat with the lady..)

Anyways, i get cappucino, bombolona, acqua (water) and sugar packets.... Nice weather by the way..
After finishing the breakfast, i go to the counter and pay the bill which comes to 2.10 euros..

Me: Ciao ( Bye)

I walk slowly towards my laboratory... After crossing few roads and after watching few chicks (..fully covered..) i reach the laboratory...

I go into the TIMELINE.... "work".... prof comes and asks for the results.. The proudest block to live in because C.V.Raman stayed there. The E block.

Its 8:00am, friday. I got up early today somewhat, my roomie still sleeping. He had night shift. I reach for toothpaste : its empty. Well, whats a roomie for? I take my brush filled with toothpaste and walk towards bathroom. I realize that the bathroom has been under renovation because of the long lasting demands of the students to renovate the 80yr old bathroom..... i begin to wonder.. why does my post always contain a mention of bathroom??? anyways, i move on to the other side of the block.

Its 8:45am,friday.Next stop mess. I am in lab now..National MEMS Design Centre.. recently our dudes have designed a new website for our lab..anyways, we clicked some pictures with our profs and all the lab members.... said goodbye to all of the guys.. Well very few labmates are remaining. Most of them have left either to US or they got good jobs.

12:30 friday, very special lunch for me.. rice, dal fry some more fry and then omlette... The person puts all the luggage inside the bus. 8 more hours to reach home. Me see the busstop for the last time... Put the pillow underneath the head, reach the oblivion...

Yourz truly

Gattz

Joga Bonito

Well a game is a game is a game, as someone once said (.....probably just me). Anyway, what a wonderful month it was....right from day one, it was just pure fun.....for every match, we used to take sides and rejoice if our team wins, shake our head if it looses and then on to the next match, new sides to take and etc...then the big ones, the quarters, semis and then the final....there we were, me, gatty and the rest of the guys watching the climax of the greatest show on earth....we did expect fireworks and boy, did we get it!...all the wonderful passes, "yaaah" goals, the "ooooh" misses, the pushing and the shoving, the "oscar-winning" injuries and then the finale...not the head-butting dear, but the penalty kicks....and what a nail biting finish!...and of course, then the usual blaming and counter-blaming, blah blah. What mattered at the end was a nation with no footballing team to speak of, enjoys the global game and celebrates the victory/weeps in defeat, as if it was its own. Now, what more could we ask for? Joga Bonito !!

Heart break...

What ever said and done....Zinédine Yazid Zidane will always be remembered as the greatest footballer ever (atleast by me) ..and he was righlty given the Golden Ball award. He was the one who single handedly brought France to the finals...and single handedly deprived it of the CUP..but still i feel france should have won the FIFA cup. One cannot forget the pass he gave to ribery in the match against spain and the goal he scored after that. But ultimately what matters is not the feeling, but how many goals have been scored and Italians had it in them....LUCK. This four letter word is the one which decides between WIN and LOSE. But Zidane had that four letter word in his feets....

Commenting about the game: Italians played one of the most pathetic game i have seen. They had 9 defenders, 1 striker and a goalie. No counter attack and no attack which the italians have always been known for. In fact the attack style "Blitzkreig" was brought up by them. They fully showed this style against the germans....thats italians...thats the game they play (Both the goals scored against germans came from the clearance by the defenders) But what happend on sunday.??? were they afraid of french defence..Thuram, Mekelele....at al?

One header to Buffons gloves and the other to Materazzi's chest. I believe that RED card was a little bit harsh on him...47 seconds after the match started cannavaro almost knocked Henry COLD.... but who saw..nobody protested...So no Yellow.. no RED..and what about Figo's header in the match against holland? He was given a clean chit....anyways.. Lets not talk about who is right nor who is wrong..its all in the game..thats what makes football more interesting and continues to inspire billions of souls....Probably its the 'idiosyncracy of the genius souls'

MARADONA WAS ONE OF THEM.......................

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tCoMtPuL3Q&search=maradona%20original

.............and the song which is played in back ground....

Artist: The Animals

Song: Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood

Baby, do you understand me now

Sometimes I feel a little mad

But don't you know that no one alive

Can always be an angel

When things go wrong I seem to be bad

But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree

With a joy that's hard to hide

And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry

Then you're bound to see my other side

But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

If I seem edgy I want you to know

That I never mean to take it out on you

Life has it's problems and I get my share

And that's one thing I never meant to do

Because I love you

Oh, Oh baby don't you know I'm human

Have thoughts like any other one

Sometimes I find myself long regretting

Some foolish thing some little simple thing I've done

But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

_____

Fully played with spanish guitar....Beg, Buy Borrow....a must listen song....

Your's Gattz

Votta Game....!!!

It was 5:30 pm and i knew today there was match between Argentina and Serbia & montenegro. Well my prediction was 2-0. Pretty decent i felt.. i have a long chart of predictions for all the matches...anyways, i went to mess..took a glass of milk poured tea decoction and a spoon of sugar.. there was Veg Puff to eat..i took a seat and started to eat....in front of me there was a guy who was reading 'Times' newspaper....i was waiting for that guy to leave the paper and go....After 5 min he finishes of his tea and goes away...me quickly grabs the paper and start reading...one hand tea one hand times..Oh! i forgot to tell you there is no coffee in the mess, the mess officials have protested by not giving us coffee since the coffee vending machine has broken down and it is not repaired by the hostel authorities..so u know..tit 4 tat...Ok politics apart, its 6:00pm the match starts at 6:30pm...me, finishes of the times paper and tea...and go towards the hostel TV room...TV room is not that spacious but enough for 50 guys to cramp in..but quite understood, knowing that there is a TV in each floor of the hostel. Anyways, i pick a chair and sat tightly glued to the TV. Star movies, nobody was watching that..but still it was running...everybody are waiting for 6:30 with newspapers in their hand....the clock starts ticking and people start pouring......

"Abe baaju hat.."
"sir, thoda iss taraf..."
"Can you please remove the chair...thank you"
"Neeche bait jaa..."

So now the room is packed..and one fellow rightly changes the channel to ESPN..we see harsha bhogle's face...with 2 other fellows predicting a win for ARG.

Jose Perkerman had said before the tournament, that the tactic would be to hold the possession around the penalty area and create tension before unleashing a strike when least expected.

To be brief; it was 3-0 in the first half. The 2nd goal which was netted by cambiasso was a classic. After 22 passes cambiasso nets the ball, total team effort. S&M had no answer at all..They had held Netherland to 1-0. So quite a good team..but the story is not yet over..

Second half yet to come...The game was drifting after the second half started. However Carlos Tevez came in for Saviola while Lionel Messi for Maxi and the game struck fire once again. Crespo got the goal he deserved making him the tournament’s leading scorer, after a beautiful pass from Messi. While Tevez dodged two defenders and struck a goal. Messi scored the final goal, because the score sheet just wouldn’t look right without his name on it. 6-0

They say Riquelme is the missile and crespo the warhead...deadly combination for argentina.. and pekerman has got Messi,Tevez and Aimar up his sleeves.

Match not to be missed...

So till then..Viva la Argentina..

Yours Gattz

Very Inspiring ............

There are many stories which our grand mothers used to say about the maharaja's and the ancient mythologies and their awe inspiring courage in which the good beats the evil. But here is something which generations after generations will reiterate the courage of the young lad, who with the swing of his bat taught the whole world what we can become.......

1989-1990 Pakistan v India, 1st Test, National Stadium:

Picture this: Pakistan's National Stadium, packed to the rafters with home team supporters roaring their team on against the hated enemy. In the middle, easily the most fearsome pace attack of the time - the young Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram, backed by the legendary Imran Khan. Krish Srikkanth, Navjot Sidhu and Sanjay Manjrekar are blasted out in rapid succession (13/3). Prabhakar is fourth out - and a young lad of just over 16 years walks out into the cauldron.
Imran sets an attacking field, and the two fearsome young fast bowlers go for blood, with a barrage of short-pitched deliveries that buzz around the tyke's head. A ball from Younis rears up and smacks the youngster on the helmet. Concerned, the close in fielders and the bowler rush up to render assistance. The youngster shakes his head to clear it - and through the visor of his helmet, boyish eyes glare in defiance. He scored only 15 that day - but in the nerveless fashion in which he took guard again after having his bell rung, he announced himself a man among men.

Lets ask ourselves two questions:How many feet did Orville and Wilbur Wright traverse in their first flight? And what was our own biggest accomplishment at age 16?

1990, England v India, 2nd Test, Old Trafford:

England 519. India - powered by a swashbuckling 179 from Mohammad Azharuddin - 432. England in the second innings, 320 for 4 declared, leaving India 408 to make to win. What follows, is a sorry procession: Ravi Shastri, Navjot Sidhu, Sanjay Manjrekar, Dilip Vengsarkar and Azharuddin back in the hut with 109 on the board. Kapil Dev follows, 18 runs later.
And then a lad not yet old enough to qualify for a driving license drives England's attack to distraction. While Manoj Prabhakar (67 not out) holds his end up with dogged determination, the boy wonder cuts loose. A defensive innings at that point would have been hailed as a masterpiece - but 17-year-old Tendulkar attacks, shots of scintillating brilliance punctuating an unbeaten innings of 119 that carries his team to safety.

Passion to do something for the country is only amongst few.......Sachin is one amongst them....Very Inspiring.

** Courtesy Prem Panicker

Chaos Theory

What exactly is chaos? The name "chaos theory" comes from the fact that the systems that the theory describes are apparently disordered, but chaos theory is really about finding the underlying order in apparently random data.

When was chaos first discovered? The first true experimenter in chaos was a meteorologist, named Edward Lorenz. In 1960, he was working on the problem of weather prediction. He had a computer set up, with a set of twelve equations to model the weather. It didn't predict the weather itself. However this computer program did theoretically predict what the weather might be.

One day in 1961, he wanted to see a particular sequence again. To save time, he started in the middle of the sequence, instead of the beginning. He entered the number off his printout and left to let it run.

When he came back an hour later, the sequence had evolved differently. Instead of the same pattern as before, it diverged from the pattern, ending up wildly different from the original. (See figure) Eventually he figured out what happened. The computer stored the numbers to six decimal places in its memory. To save paper, he only had it print out three decimal places. In the original sequence, the number was .506127, and he had only typed the first three digits, .506.

By all conventional ideas of the time, it should have worked. He should have gotten a sequence very close to the original sequence. A scientist considers himself lucky if he can get measurements with accuracy to three decimal places. Surely the fourth and fifth, impossible to measure using reasonable methods, can't have a huge effect on the outcome of the experiment. Lorenz proved this idea wrong.

This effect came to be known as the butterfly effect. The amount of difference in the starting points of the two curves is so small that it is comparable to a butterfly flapping its wings.

" The flapping of a single butterfly's wing today produces a tiny change in the state of the atmosphere. Over a period of time, what the atmosphere actually does diverges from what it would have done. So, in a month's time, a tornado that would have devastated the Indonesian coast doesn't happen. Or maybe one that wasn't going to happen, does."

(Ian Stewart, Does God Play Dice? The Mathematics of Chaos, pg. 141)

This phenomenon, common to chaos theory, is also known as sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Just a small change in the initial conditions can drastically change the long-term behavior of a system. Such a small amount of difference in a measurement might be considered experimental noise, background noise, or an inaccuracy of the equipment. Such things are impossible to avoid in even the most isolated lab. With a starting number of 2, the final result can be entirely different from the same system with a starting value of 2.000001. It is simply impossible to achieve this level of accuracy - just try and measure something to the nearest millionth of an inch!

From this idea, Lorenz stated that it is impossible to predict the weather accurately. However, this discovery led Lorenz on to other aspects of what eventually came to be known as chaos theory.

Chaos has already had a lasting effect on science, yet there is much still left to be discovered. Many scientists believe that twentieth century science will be known for only three theories: relativity, quantum mechanics, and chaos. Aspects of chaos show up everywhere around the world, from the currents of the ocean and the flow of blood through fractal blood vessels to the branches of trees and the effects of turbulence. Chaos has inescapably become part of modern science. As chaos changed from a little-known theory to a full science of its own, it has received widespread publicity. Chaos theory has changed the direction of science: in the eyes of the general public, physics is no longer simply the study of subatomic particles in a billion-dollar particle accelerator, but the study of chaotic systems and how they work.

It may not be that your exsistance depended on chaos or may be it is......
Science is Beautiful isn't it?

[**Thanx to mukesh who introduced me to chaos and greg rae for the material]

Conversation-2

It was about 8:00pm. I was hungry, very hungry. I got up from the chair and put on my jacket. There was nobody in the lab.I switched off all the lights... and then locked the door. I put on my shoes and started walking outside towards the cycle. The 'hell raiser' really man it is a 'hell raiser' because the seat fits only my ass. Well you can call it custom made or whatever......mess is not far away but it is not nearby also..we have to cross few 'margs' and then reach. In about 10 min i was there in front of the mess. As usual i parked the cycle and walked towards the mess. There was something fishy in the air....oh i thought today they were serving fish curry..thats why.(PJ PJ..i know).....lot of people were outside in the garden hanging on to their mobile phones...what the heck..??? Anyways i did not care i went inside and washed my hands. Thank god..no Q this time. I picked one plate and 2 cups. 2 spoon of rice, some bheja fry, chicken curry, sambar, 1 chapati..and the final touches with the pickle, curd, kheer and a glass of water. Sumptous isn't it. Yeah you are really taken care of here ...Anyways, After about 10min, i picked up the empty plate and then dropped in the washing container. I washed my hand and was about to leave....well i actually left. I sat on the hercules and slowly pedaled and pedaled. There were unusual amout of people on the road especially girls speaking on their mobiles. On the way i met this fellow who is working on "FINFETS" (don't bother, its another form of transistor.) So the conversation goes like this.......

He:"Tere ko maalum hai kya?"
Me:"Kya..?"

He:"Abey maalum nahi hai kya?"
Me:"Han malum hai ki to pee ke aagya hai..."

He:" There was a terrorist attack in the auditorium...one person seriously injured and the rest of them injured..."
Me:"Kitna daala? 90 ya 60"

He:"Sacchi me yaar..you see the aaj tak news...this was a flash"
me thinks 'might be saying the truth'. Then his friend comes over (who was incidentaley was on the mobile phone)

His friend:" They used AK47 it seems and 6 of them injured.... there has been an alert and all the gates are sealed."

That's when the chill ran through my spine......

I rushed back to the lab and my friend was sitting in the corner..doing something.

Me:"Do you know..macha?"
He( my another friend):"What?" ( with a casual expression)

Me:"There was an attack by terrorist...in front of auditorium." ( Seriously...i did not know which auditorium.. there are millions of auditorium around here and lot of conferences going on)

He:"What are you talikng?" ( He could not believe.....naturally)
Me:" Just type rediff/ndtv and check man"

He gets a phone call on his mobile.(His relative perhaps....enquiring about his whereabouts)

Then enters our great lad, the dude from 'University of Notre dam' 100 miles from chicago. Has worked on MEMS 3D spiral inductors...

Me:"Do you that there was an att....?"
dude:" Yeah... heard the news. But there is no security at the gates, i came through without the check"

Me:"Oh.."

I called home asking them not to worry.

( Then we started of with conversation about how to protect IISc...etc etc)

We did not know exactly how many of them were there(at that point of time) some were saying 3 of them (2 dead and 1 missing). So we thought it would not safe for us to go out and we decided to stay in the lab watching "Lethal Weapon"

Song Recommendation:

Judas Priest: ' Breaking the Law ' Its too good man....

Lyrics is something like this:

There I was completely wasting, out of work and down
All inside it’s so frustrating as I drift from town to town
Feel as though nobody cares if I live or die
So I might as well begin to put some action in my life

Breaking the law, breaking the law 4

So much for the golden future, I can’t even start
I’ve had every promise broken, there’s anger in my heart
You don’t know what it’s like, you don’t have a clue
If you did you’d find yourselves doing the same thing too
Breaking the law, breaking the law 4

You don’t know what it’s like
Breaking the law, breaking the law 4

Conversation

It was evening. (i knew newtons 3rd law works here too..)

Me:"MEMS"

GS:" You are from which college?"

Me:"MIT,manipal"
GS:"WHAT!!!"

Me:"M.I.T, manipal"
GS:" Oh!! i thought 'THAT'.....MIT"

Me:"What MIT???"
GS:"Masschse.......etc etc"

Me:" Good guess....ok then see you"
GS:"bye"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poem

"What have we here lad....."
"Mysterious scribbles..?"
"Secret Codes..?"
"Oh...Poems none the less"
"Poems every body......" (laughs)

                                                'Money gets back'

                                                'I'm alright jack'

' keep your hands of my stack'

"Absolute rubbish...."

And thus begins the world famous song by floyd which has been sung over and over again which put them on top of the chart for over a decade. The ultimate revolutionary lyrics. Well, it may be very difficult or shall i say a subtle demarcation between the poem and a song write up. Wonder why William wordsworth's poems have never been made into a song. Its very difficult to write a song or a poem. I have tried a few times but finaly it ends out to be very bad. Why don't you give a try..... Well not necessary that it always have to rhyme. But ofcourse it needs some IQ....

'i walk on the shore'

'i hear the uproar'

'Far away by the distance'

'where the river meets the sea'

'i see a fence'

'a man about to pee'

I don't know what meaning it conveys but i thought it was good enough to qualify as a poem. Let me dedicate this article to the poets and the song writers. Infosys came out with a theme song and so did microsoft. Well, microsoft wanted it to be more of rock so they approached parikrama.

Finally, Let me try one serious poem. Mmmmm....trying to find some ideas....motivation. Mmmmmmm.......can't get any idea. Let me try for one time....go out and get some fresh air, watch nature, have tea and come back....Its already dark mid night 12:51pm to be precise.

Here i am....
Ghost

' i felt soft fingers at my throat'

' it seemed someone was strangling me'

' the lips were hard as they were sweet'

' it seemed someone was kissing me'

' my vital bones about to crack'

' i gaped into another's eyes'

' i saw it was a fate i knew'

' a face as sweet as it was grim'

' it did not smile it did not week'

' its eyes were wide & white its skin'

' i did not smile i did not weep'

' i raised my hand touched its cheek'

I knew you would like it. I can even see the big smile on your face.

Harold pinter the noble prize winner for literature 2005. To be honest, its him who wrote the poem. Titled 'Ghost' written in 1983. I'm still searching for the golden lines.....

I shall put some golden lines by 'robbie williams' song called as 'supreme'

Oh it seemed forever stopped today
All the lonely hearts in London
Caught a plane and flew away
And all the best women are married
All the handsome men are gay
You feel deprived

Yeah are you questioning your size?
Is there a tumour in your humour,
Are there bags under your eyes?
Do you leave dents where you sit,
Are you getting on a bit?
Will you survive
You must survive

Black Hole

I go deep into the endless abyss..i feel as if i am falling down a 20 storyed building and going down and down and down...Suddenly something stuck like a lightning. I find my self floating in air as if i am walking in zero gravity. I've no clothes on. There are marks all over the body as if someone had just put a bar code all over. I swim across my room and find a glass door, i open it. Its full of clothes, i take a black jacket and put it on. I fall on the ground and find myself walking. Oh i forgot to tell you that it was a gravity push up jacket. But where am I??? I search for some instrument to show time, i look at the corner of the table, the computer just shows what i think. Time is 9:00Am. I go out of the room towards the garden, the atmosphere is misty and very little light. I have a vague feeling as if something is squeezing my belly. I bend down to take the can of energy drink. I open it and gulp the contents..feeling gone. I turn the can and find out that it was H2O. Time has slowed down as if i am walking in a slow motion. Probably the effect of the energy drink... I slowly walk towards the garage. After the retina scanning and the RFID tag inspection on my body, the garage door opens.... A gorgeous jet is parked inside. But Where am i??? The jet automaticaly comes near me and opens the hood. I board. The state of the art electromagnetic levitation machine which is controlled by nanoprocessors made up of SET's(Single Electron Transistors). I enter the location. The jet zooms into outer space and its all dark. I put on the music which sounds like "ROCK"and in about 10min i am there..but where?? It seems like another planet.I see a big building in front of me.I park my jet and slowly walk towards a big building. I can see lot of other inhabitants walking along with me. I reach the big building and slowly take out the memory stick from the pocket, push it onto one of the output locations on the wall. Download some notes and lectures..Oh! its a library, Take out the stick and insert it to the spinal port at the back of my head. The memory stick is basically made of a biocompatible materials where it stores memory using quantum dots..its all small. They have shrunk it!!! I enter the big hall where thousands of inhabitants are sitting in front of the OFPD(Organic Flat Panel Display). I select one of the OFPD and wait for the computer the start something. Suddenly the bell rings.. I can hear the sound slowly becoming louder and louder...everything fades away as if the mist has just been driven by the first rays of sun.Likewise the whole place becomes murkier and murkier...to dissovle into the empty space called as the black hole. The first rays of the sun just touched my eyes and i wake up.. only to appreciate the dream. I still smile and think "well, not bad at all". I get out of my bed and start brushing.....still feeling the same feeling. I dress up and walk outside..the jet is waiting for me..the state of the art electromagnetic levitated machine with nano processor controlled by SET's.....Where am I???

gattz

Dry Day

<img style="DISPLAY: block; Idly vadas did give some energy to peddle the bicycle all the way up to my lab..

In the Lab: Guys are already there, doing somethin'. me start doing something....look at some of the designs chat with my friends about some bottle necks in the design. Finally we come to conclusion that 'why on eart are we breaking our head for this?" So we discard the design and go for the next one.Download some papers, read it find out what's going on..... This time again the same bottle necks...I wish i could hold the neck of the bottle and gulp all the contents in. We look in the text books for some info, discuss with the PhD guys out here..sort out the problem.Start preparing report. Ok then time for lunch.

In the Mess: Nothing much happening..its crowded..i peep into others plate guessing what the contents would be..Grab a plate..put some rice, curry, omlete french fries, and chapati...holding it in both the hands.... twisting and turning i reach a table....Slowly i start the act..which has been practiced and perfected since the time began..since the evolution of mankind..."eating"...

Back in the Lab: look up..

It 5:15, time to go to hostel....change quickly....time to meet some one. Never it did drive so much passion and thought, neither it did give me so much pleasure for mind and body..i fell in love..I run towards the gymkhana. Time to get physical. The game started, me 'striker' right flank. i get the ball in my right foot.. change it to left foot. go towards the edge of the ground and tackled one guy, take the ball towards the centre..one more guy...again do my little trick and tackle him also..third guy!!..this time i am tired and try to give a pass..but that buger was little hefty for me to handle..so what "get physical"..Oh that was little too much..he fell flat to the ground.Foul was taken..Man, i love this game...end of the day.

The pic what you see of the world cup macth between ARG vs ENG. And that is precisely none other than the world famous 'Deigo Maradona' in his peek of the career. The goalie is 'Peter shilton' of england. And tha goal is termed as the 'hand of god goal'. Since there was a rift between ARG and Eng politically ,this match was seen as the war betwn them. The Englishmen striked back to level up the score to 1-1. Then something happend...something sensational...this lad from 'boca-juniors' turned and twisted the ball to tackle 9 members of the ENG to finally put the ball behind the net. This goal was termed as the "feet of god goal". And this goal is this the world famous goal and is put in the hall of fame of world cup. ARG beat ENG 2-1.

No song review this time...So till next time happy blogging guys..

yourz
Gattz

Just another DAY in IISc

Guys, i've tried a differrent approach of writing. Its in first person point of veiw, i'm naive at this type of writing, so if you find any errors XcuZe me.

Mmmm......Nice smelly room, this is what happens if you don't wash the socks. I look at my watch it shows 2:30, even the birds have started to whistle. I'm still half-awake. My roomie is still in the lab.....I keep all the stuffs on the table. Change clothes. Corridor lights are OFF. I still can hear a faint sound of hindi music...Probably someone next door. The bed looks really cozy to me very much inviting. I take a deep breath and plunge on it. Still the design of the RF-switch is rolling in my mind. A novel structure that has never been thought before......i'm still searching in my dreams...i doze off.......

My roomie's mobile ring's....i wake up but still in half-sleep. Cursing my roomie for the wake up call...i realize that he had alarm in it. Well he is also my kind..using the mobile fone as an alarm clock. Its 8:30 am. Mess closes by 9:30...and it takes around 10 min to reach the mess, so i decide that i have to leave the block by 9:20. I hurry up..pick the mug and go to toilet. Smelly..some bastard had a bad stomach i believe. Finish everyting off before fainting...go back to my room. Colgate gel is waiting for it to blend with the tooth-brush.It eats away some more time...i take the bucket and go towards bathroom..i realize that i had forgot soap... i go back and pick it up.i run towards the bath room.. luckily one was open. Become 'Adam' once again...for sometime though..I go to my room after the 'Adam' pleasure..change clothes..get formal..its already 9:15...take the stuffs with me and run down the steps towards my "Hardley Davidson" the "Hercules Thriller" zoom at the-speed-of-light towards the mess. 'B-Mess'.Still guessing what the menu would be?? Should i go for bread-omlete or go for eat-what-they-give (We do have choice). I fill my cup with tea decoction and add some milk and some sugar too. Idly-vada.. I put some idly and "TWO ONLY" Vadas..with chutney and sambar. Very thin population in the mornings for breakfast. i mean very less chicks..

The pic above shows the main road which leads to the department......the cross roads..You will find me zooming on this road..

I will post the remaining part in the next write up..Mean while my fav..review, the song review

who can beat these guys..a perfect Psychedelic....listen when u r high...amazing.

Floyd
song: High Hopes
Album: division bell

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the long road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowingT
he endless river
Forever and ever

Yours truly
gattz

Blasphemy

True. Howz the pic? I got most coments for my last entry....3 of them......only. The template has been changed and.... ads are supposed to come... what happend yaar...anyways i will check it out.

Research work going on out here. There was a football match organized out here. Teams like 'imaginary madrid' 'lungspool' 'Samba(r) dancers' 'Diegos Desciple''Manchester devided'..etc etc all in all 16 teams in 4 groups and we were ECE (simply 7). Teams consisted of seven members with 2 substitutes. 5 substitutions can be made during the match. 20 min each half and 10 min break.

Fultoo....futball. forward, backward, midfield, right-half ,left-half..etc etc. First match was against hockey team...HOCKEY team??? Yes Hockey team we fought well...but... wish we had donaldo, bagio, rivaldo, dodo....etc etc. Finally we fought, fought until they scored 5 goals. They made mince meat of us, all seven of US (me, sri-ram, ganesh, satyam, goalie, rajesh(prof) , sudhir, chaitanya). By the way we couldn't even open an account. Anyways ther's always next time..

And so we went with full zoom to the playground next day to play our next match...the next chance. Seven of us.Only seven!!! without even a single substitute. I was the goalie (you know to stop the goals) First half 3 goals were scored, wish we had scored it...Looking our state our lab incharge who was watching football offered to play for us. You know what.....we agreed. Second half: 4 goals were scored, again......wish we had scored it. Anyways we fought hard....fought hard to make the ball cross the half line.... but it didn't. Even their goalie scored a goal. As they say "participation is impotent if your not winning".....Ha ha ha....we were made mince meat of the mince meat. But we will not loose courage, as our important players like donaldo, bagio, diego, rivaldo, dodo, me etc etc are heavily preparing for the next match. you know ther's always a next time...you know.. so the next match is on thursday june 30th.

That was the life, futball life....Now the song review... I believe most of you would be little aware of this band called "Amon Amarth", black metal. The lyrics is little bit heavy. Heavy in the sense....well just like the tiltle. check it out...listen to it.
