Something Called Life:

I had slight touch of fever today... so stayed at home. Nothing much to do. Eat,Watch TV, scan through the mails, relaxing and read through old papers and dairies.  In of the dairies, I found this poem which I had written in December 2005....  It is quite interesting that the state of mind I was in! Hmmm... Let's see:

      Something comes my way,
    with a slow decay.
    Something goes in flash,
    like a stash of cash.
    Something falls apart,
through the middle of the heart.

    Something seems so green,
    so clear and pristine.
    As I take a drag
    of a number of fag
    Someone touches me
    I fall on my knee.
It's what life is all about!

The O-banana

Obama is touring India. Well, it seems he is on a single point agenda. Jobs back home! It  was defined that the jobs will be created by selling $12bil worth of equipments which would create 50,000 odd jobs. I'm not sure how, but let's keep it that way. Whatever it is, there are some first to this events. It is the first time in the
history of US that it has come to India asking for something! back in 1950's when India asked for monetary help to improve its economy, it was turn down... and from then on... India has been reeling on a very slow growth rate... until someone proposed that time has come for India to open its markets.. that happened in 1991...

Well, then what's the problem now? The problem is...US wants India to open up the domestic market also.It seems it is in a deep shit with 9.6% unemployment rate, the economic downturn is NOT all over. With opening up of the domestic market what will happen? All the small time shops have to be shut down. Because the items which would be available in small shops will now be available in desi WALL MARTS. The main target of US is the agriculture production. India is no 2 in the world in terms of vegetable production. (You can imagine how many from the size of vegetarians). It is top 5 in production of wheat. Right now the cultivable land in US is dominated by the plants for production of oil seeds called bio fuel. our land would be used to feed the people of US whereas their land would be used for production of oil which in-turn will supply the Tankers,Warships, Aircrafts....

Welcome to the New-world of colonization! Let the war for food begin!

On the other hand, Are we so vulnerable to external influence? we have been influenced externally all through our history, starting from the Gupta empire till the Britishers. Nothing will change the crux of of living. Going to
chai wala and asking for a single cig will not change even if WALL mart comes and establishes its colony in India. There will still be a chai wala next to Wall mart selling his beedies. Because that's the way of life! and it will not change. I remember when i used to do my research in IISc. It is completely banned to sell cig's in the campus. But there used to be a cig wala just outside the wall of the campus selling cig's and beedies across the compound. Scientists, professors and the likes of that caliber would take a coffee and then go to this wall and buy cig from this guy who's  standing outside the campus but attached to the wall. I mean we are used to circumvent the rules.

Because we never follow any rules... be it driving on the road or buying items from the shops.. its our way! its our life! we know how to circumvent the rules to our advantage. ;) There is a fear that opening up the domestic market to US companies will ruin us completely. I ask... the farmers are suiciding now... what worst will happen more? One thing might happen... The demand for food like vegetables, grains and wheat would increase. which would drive up the costs in India. Hence the affordability by the normal person will be difficult. I see... Ton's of potatoes are getting rotten in the go-downs... Tons of wheat is getting rotten in the go-down.. who is accountable for all these. I say, the farmers will get a good price for his products if he sells his goods to US companies. Or rather US companies might come directly to the farmers to ask for vegetables, and other products. Well, i am not a economist but suitable strategy and price control would make the situation win-win. But how much win -win ? that is left for time to tell... OR rather to Mr Swami... till then let the O banana roll......

Down The Memory Lane

Shake down 1979
cool kids never have the time..
On a Live wire right up off the street
You and i should meet......

Perhaps the greatest moment of our lives is when we were free. Born free. To do just anything you like. We had wings, the wings of dreams. With which we would fly high. When sky was the limit. Then comes a moment where you have to move on. Earn a living. Get married. Have kids. Just when you realize that time is moving too fast. you listen to this music... The moments... the seconds.. when you would make rules... believing in you was at its prime... I spoke to one guy who works for GE. He had come to stockholm to manage a project... so i asked him what's the greatest moment of his life? Is it that he got into IIT? is it that he scored a jackpot? he said... he cherishes the moment when he was free... when he could do anything he wanted... and that moment was his college days... the fist love... air of fresh breath... the ordis, critis, merci's ... you name it! and the devas, the timmy, the dammanna's, the night outs... the mallu's, the gulti's the northie... masala chai... and there were days when we used to go to beaches... be it goa or malpe. Those were the moments. Those who lived it they will cherish.. the trees fluttering in the rain. The hot cup of tea and ciggarette in Devas... the sessionals.. The days when we didn't even care what was right or what was wrong...

Perhaps the greatest moment of lives are when we are Free. Born free. The moments are not spoiled yet. May be those dreams are naive. Now its time to have more logical dreams and pursue happiness within those boundries. Whatever the crap, i am damn sure we live those moments now. I did ask the same guy one more question. Do You ever miss those greatest moments of life? He said... ''I lived it!, Now its time to find another greatest moment''... the music slowly fades out. I go back to my memories again.

THE THEORY OF LOVE, LUST AND EVERYTHING ELSE

Blues were the days,
When Eve was making hays.
Things were hard to comeby,
Enough they had for a standby.
Life was boring,
The same lion roaring,
The birds humming,
Neither the winds charming.

While Adam was having an apple
Advised the angel:
“Adam and Eve
Go on a leave”

Adam knew the same ways,
The lion, birds, and the wind sway.

Adam decided to pursue
The secret little garden
Which Eve had hidden.
Eve was wise, ‘cause Adam ran out of choice
Thus began the theory of LOVE, LUST and Everything else.
