Heart break...

What ever said and done....Zinédine Yazid Zidane will always be remembered as the greatest footballer ever (atleast by me) ..and he was righlty given the Golden Ball award. He was the one who single handedly brought France to the finals...and single handedly deprived it of the CUP..but still i feel france should have won the FIFA cup. One cannot forget the pass he gave to ribery in the match against spain and the goal he scored after that. But ultimately what matters is not the feeling, but how many goals have been scored and Italians had it in them....LUCK. This four letter word is the one which decides between WIN and LOSE. But Zidane had that four letter word in his feets....

Commenting about the game: Italians played one of the most pathetic game i have seen. They had 9 defenders, 1 striker and a goalie. No counter attack and no attack which the italians have always been known for. In fact the attack style "Blitzkreig" was brought up by them. They fully showed this style against the germans....thats italians...thats the game they play (Both the goals scored against germans came from the clearance by the defenders) But what happend on sunday.??? were they afraid of french defence..Thuram, Mekelele....at al?

One header to Buffons gloves and the other to Materazzi's chest. I believe that RED card was a little bit harsh on him...47 seconds after the match started cannavaro almost knocked Henry COLD.... but who saw..nobody protested...So no Yellow.. no RED..and what about Figo's header in the match against holland? He was given a clean chit....anyways.. Lets not talk about who is right nor who is wrong..its all in the game..thats what makes football more interesting and continues to inspire billions of souls....Probably its the 'idiosyncracy of the genius souls'

MARADONA WAS ONE OF THEM.......................

.............and the song which is played in back ground....

Artist: The Animals

Song: Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood

Baby, do you understand me now

Sometimes I feel a little mad

But don't you know that no one alive

Can always be an angel

When things go wrong I seem to be bad

But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree

With a joy that's hard to hide

And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry

Then you're bound to see my other side

But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

If I seem edgy I want you to know

That I never mean to take it out on you

Life has it's problems and I get my share

And that's one thing I never meant to do

Because I love you

Oh, Oh baby don't you know I'm human

Have thoughts like any other one

Sometimes I find myself long regretting

Some foolish thing some little simple thing I've done

But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good

Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

I agree, the Trinity of Football is now complete - Maradona, Pele and Zidane.

BUT, disagree with your comments about the Italians. They needed a win and played to ensure just that. They played like a team and won as a team.

About Cannavaro knocking Henry cold, well he saw Henry running into him and just squared his shoulders and braced himself. Shouldn't one of the best strikers in the world at least look to see where he is running? Anyway, my respect for Henry has gone after this WC. He played and dived like a fool. Maybe the EPL is ruining him.

Was a World Cup of defenders and midfielders and consistent teams and goalies.

....and what about the dive by grosso against the ausies...that was worth an oscar. About henry.. he was the worst player in the field...he should have retired of injury..and trezeguet should have played instead of him...

a. Just love seeing the variety of subjects in your blog :)

b. Also glad to see an article 'For' Zidane :) the man who took France and football to a different level.
however, on that incident, I felt Zidane perhaps overreacted (though I am glad he did :) ) , but the referee over reacted on his act, and what is worse is the world over reacted on the incident. Without an attempt to evaluate the situation most (of the media) got judgemental as if claiming authority over football and footballers behaviours :(

c. My opinion for Henry has raised after this worldcup. French often had criticised him for performing lesser for the country than Arsenal. But as I saw it, he showed some amazing character. For instance... i. he had differences with Ribery earlier, but on the field they exchanged some very good crosses though failed to convert. Also did you notice the move (or the absence of it) by Henry when he was positioned offside when Ribery moved ahead and scored a goal against spain? That was an amazing strategy. Henry certainly did not have a partners support up in the front, yet did great. trezeguet on the other hand is often selffish, and very very rightly spent most of the time on bench!

d. If you have been watching Zidane's game among the french (you said he was the only one)then you missed some wonderful, effective and very clean (like a knife in butter) defence by Lilian thuram, some excellent runs by Sagnol, and some neat work by Viera too...

thats too long for a comment, but I am sure you'll understand pal :o)
