Poem

"What have we here lad....."
"Mysterious scribbles..?"
"Secret Codes..?"
"Oh...Poems none the less"
"Poems every body......" (laughs)
"This lad reckons himself a poet..." (laughs)

'Money gets back'
'I'm alright jack'
' keep your hands of my stack'

"Absolute rubbish...."

And thus begins the world famous song by floyd which has been sung over and over again which put them on top of the chart for over a decade. The ultimate revolutionary lyrics. Well, it may be very difficult or shall i say a subtle demarcation between the poem and a song write up. Wonder why William wordsworth's poems have never been made into a song. Its very difficult to write a song or a poem. I have tried a few times but finaly it ends out to be very bad. Why don't you give a try..... Well not necessary that it always have to rhyme. But ofcourse it needs some IQ....
'i walk on the shore'
'i hear the uproar'
'Far away by the distance'
'where the river meets the sea'
'i see a fence'
'a man about to pee'

I don't know what meaning it conveys but i thought it was good enough to qualify as a poem. Let me dedicate this article to the poets and the song writers. Infosys came out with a theme song and so did microsoft. Well, microsoft wanted it to be more of rock so they approached parikrama.

Finally, Let me try one serious poem. Mmmmm....trying to find some ideas....motivation. Mmmmmmm.......can't get any idea. Let me try for one time....go out and get some fresh air, watch nature, have tea and come back....Its already dark mid night 12:51pm to be precise.

Here i am....
Ghost

' i felt soft fingers at my throat'
' it seemed someone was strangling me'
' the lips were hard as they were sweet'
' it seemed someone was kissing me'
' my vital bones about to crack'
' i gaped into another's eyes'
' i saw it was a fate i knew'
' a face as sweet as it was grim'
' it did not smile it did not week'
' its eyes were wide & white its skin'
' i did not smile i did not weep'
' i raised my hand touched its cheek'

I knew you would like it. I can even see the big smile on your face.

Harold pinter the noble prize winner for literature 2005. To be honest, its him who wrote the poem. Titled 'Ghost' written in 1983. I'm still searching for the golden lines.....

I shall put some golden lines by 'robbie williams' song called as 'supreme'

Oh it seemed forever stopped today
All the lonely hearts in London
Caught a plane and flew away
And all the best women are married
All the handsome men are gay
You feel deprived

Yeah are you questioning your size?
Is there a tumour in your humour,
Are there bags under your eyes?
Do you leave dents where you sit,
Are you getting on a bit?
Will you survive
You must survive

Black Hole

I go deep into the endless abyss..i feel as if i am falling down a 20 storyed building and going down and down and down...Suddenly something stuck like a lightning. I find my self floating in air as if i am walking in zero gravity. I've no clothes on. There are marks all over the body as if someone had just put a bar code all over. I swim across my room and find a glass door, i open it. Its full of clothes, i take a black jacket and put it on. I fall on the ground and find myself walking. Oh i forgot to tell you that it was a gravity push up jacket. But where am I??? I search for some instrument to show time, i look at the corner of the table, the computer just shows what i think. Time is 9:00Am. I go out of the room towards the garden, the atmosphere is misty and very little light. I have a vague feeling as if something is squeezing my belly. I bend down to take the can of energy drink. I open it and gulp the contents..feeling gone. I turn the can and find out that it was H2O. Time has slowed down as if i am walking in a slow motion. Probably the effect of the energy drink... I slowly walk towards the garage. After the retina scanning and the RFID tag inspection on my body, the garage door opens.... A gorgeous jet is parked inside. But Where am i??? The jet automaticaly comes near me and opens the hood. I board. The state of the art electromagnetic levitation machine which is controlled by nanoprocessors made up of SET's(Single Electron Transistors). I enter the location. The jet zooms into outer space and its all dark. I put on the music which sounds like "ROCK"and in about 10min i am there..but where?? It seems like another planet.I see a big building in front of me.I park my jet and slowly walk towards a big building. I can see lot of other inhabitants walking along with me. I reach the big building and slowly take out the memory stick from the pocket, push it onto one of the output locations on the wall. Download some notes and lectures..Oh! its a library, Take out the stick and insert it to the spinal port at the back of my head. The memory stick is basically made of a biocompatible materials where it stores memory using quantum dots..its all small. They have shrunk it!!! I enter the big hall where thousands of inhabitants are sitting in front of the OFPD(Organic Flat Panel Display). I select one of the OFPD and wait for the computer the start something. Suddenly the bell rings.. I can hear the sound slowly becoming louder and louder...everything fades away as if the mist has just been driven by the first rays of sun.Likewise the whole place becomes murkier and murkier...to dissovle into the empty space called as the black hole. The first rays of the sun just touched my eyes and i wake up.. only to appreciate the dream. I still smile and think "well, not bad at all". I get out of my bed and start brushing.....still feeling the same feeling. I dress up and walk outside..the jet is waiting for me..the state of the art electromagnetic levitated machine with nano processor controlled by SET's.....Where am I???

Dry Day

The three muskeeters prepared to conquer the land of java beans set out on a hunt..the time is when the city sleeps...and then we awake with full glory to the rythem of Floyd and metallica.

"Swami 2 KF strong"

"Sorry sir"

In our 'swalpa adjust maadi' land the time stood still.....the moment frozen in time.Countless of them betrayed and thoughts wandering..dreams shattered..only to be retrived and joined once again in the hope of giving birth to another dream.....

"But why ?"

Its Oct 2nd 9:00pm Gongura restaurant airport road...

We brushed our memories to get some general knowledge and came out with a conclusion that our beloved father of the nation was born on this day which unfortunately falls the day we visited the 'temple of smoke and fire'..fire inside and smoke outside.

So the three muskeeters set out in desparation in the hope of finding oasis in the betrayed land of Silicon valley...thoughts swirlled in our minds.........

But why dry day???.....for the enviromentalists its vanishing of humidity its a dry day...but for us what does that mean..?? truly i had no idea....i thought all our lands had been dried due to severe heat and there was no water to drink anywhere....

Water to drink???

Wandering about with our radars in full intensity to get hold of atleast a guy who sells grape juice....So did one of the muskeeter diverted into the closed 'temple of gin' only to be stopped and diverted ... once again...

The true color of blue has to be felt..not seen..that day was really a dry day..dry in every sense of emotion.. and we still wander.....

Song review: i should have put this song long back...

Until it sleeps:Metallica

Where do I take this pain of mine

I run but it stays right by my side

So tear me open and pour me out

There's things inside that scream and shout

And the pain still hates me

So hold me until it sleeps
Just like the curse, just like the stray

You feed it once and now it stays

Now it stays

So tear me open but beware

There's things inside without a care

And the dirt still stains me

So wash me until I'm clean

It grips you so hold me

It stains you so hold me

It hates you so hold me

It holds you so hold me

Until it sleeps

So tell me why you've chosen me

Don't want your grip

Don't want your greed

Don't want it

I'll tear me open make you gone

No more can you hurt anyone

And the fear still shakes me

So hold me, until it sleeps

It grips you so hold me

It stains you so hold me

It hates you so hold me

It holds you, holds you, holds you until it sleeps
I Don't want it want it want it want it want it No
So tear me open but beware

There's things inside without a care

And the dirt still stains me

So wash me 'til I'm clean
I'll tear thee open make you gone

No longer will you hurt anyone

And the hate still shapes me

So hold me until it sleeps...........

Katrina,rita,sugarcane and haricane.

Is it her??Eh???
There is a lot of talk about her and rita.God knows who is rita..If you find hers send it to me..i mean the foto...people were found climbing roof tops and tree tops to see who is this. Finaly americans realized that there is something other than iraq and oil..It is none other than Katrina..
Poor fellows somany people lost their lives, even the state of the art radars, stealth bombers, reconnosaince aircrafts etc etc also could not detect..what a pity.

Anyways it seems that this was the hot topic of discussion and lot blogs are getting hits..execpt mine..I donno y?? so i decided to rite an article about katrina, rita, their boyfriends haricane and sugarcane....and i ended up screwing the article.

but i tried a doggerel..hope you like it.

I'm bound and wired
I'm beaten and tired
i go to my room
which is not broom(ed)
i take a pill of sleep
through my gill of sheep
My mind goes into simulation mode
she comes in my dream
which is full of cream
Caressing and pleasing
guessing and teasing
she makes her moves
through the grooves
we were in wonderland
not england nor greenland
after that is suspence
plz donot cross the fence
i am running out of ryhme
which is not worth a dime
but she can partner a waif
is she katrin kaif??

Just another DAY in IISc-II

'Hercules' is waiting for me to take me to the lab. Idly vadas did give some energy to peddle the bicycle all the way up to my lab..

In the Lab: Guys are already there, doing somethin'. me start doing something....look at some of the designs chat with my friends about some bottle necks in the design. Finally we come to conclusion that 'why on eart are we breaking our head for this?" So we discard the design and go for the next one.Download some papers, read it find out what's going on..... This time again the same bottle necks...I wish i could hold the neck of the bottle and gulp all the contents in. We look in the text books for some info, discuss with the PhD guys out here..sort out the problem.Start preparing report. Ok then time for lunch.

In the Mess: Nothing much happening..its crowded..i peep into others plate guessing what the contents would be..Grab a plate..put some rice, curry, omlete french fries, and chapati...holding it in both the hands.... twisting and turning i reach a table....Slowly i start the act..which has been practiced and perfected since the time began..since the evolution of mankind..."eating"...

Back in the Lab: look up..

It 5:15, time to go to hostel....change quickly....time to meet some one. Never it did drive so much passion and thought, neither it did give me so much pleasure for mind and body..i fell in love..I run towards the gymkhana. Time to get physical. The game started, me 'striker' right flank. i get the ball in my right foot.. change it to left foot. go towards the edge of the ground and tackled one guy, take the ball towards the centre..one more guy...again do my little trick and tackle him also..third guy!!..this time i am tired and try to give a pass..but that buger was little hefty for me to handle..so what "get physical"..Oh that was little too much..he fell flat to the ground.Foul was taken..Man, i love this game...end of the day.

The pic what you see of the world cup macth between ARG vs ENG. And that is precisely none other than the world famous 'Deigo Maradona' in his peek of the career. The goalie is 'Peter shilton' of england. And tha goal is termed as the 'hand of god goal'. Since there was a rift between ARG and Eng politically ,this match was seen as the war betwn them. The Englishmen striked back to level up the score to 1-1. Then something happend...something sensational...this lad from 'boca-juniors' turned and twisted the ball to tackle 9 members of the ENG to finally put the ball behind the net. This goal was termed as the "feet of god goal". And this goal is this the world famous goal and is put in the hall of fame of world cup. ARG beat ENG 2-1.

No song review this time...So till next time happy blogging guys..

Just another DAY in IISc

Guys, i've tried a differrent approach of writing. Its in first person point of veiw, i'm naive at this type of writing, so if you find any errors XcuZe me.

Mmmm......Nice smelly room, this is what happens if you don't wash the socks. I look at my watch it shows 2:30, even the birds have started to whistle. I'm still half-awake. My roomie is still in the lab.....I keep all the stuffs on the table. Change clothes. Corridor lights are OFF. I still can hear a faint sound of hindi music...Probably someone next door. The bed looks really cozy to me very much inviting. I take a deep breath and plunge on it. Still the design of the RF-switch is rolling in my mind. A novel structure that has never been thought before......i'm still searching in my dreams...i doze off.......

My roomie's mobile ring's....i wake up but still in half-sleep. Cursing my roomie for the wake up call...i realize that he had alarm in it. Well he is also my kind..using the mobile fone as an alarm clock. Its 8:30 am. Mess closes by 9:30...and it takes around 10 min to reach the mess, so i decide that i have to leave the block by 9:20. I hurry up..pick the mug and go to toilet. Smelly..some bastard had a bad stomach i believe. Finish everyting off before fainting...go back to my room. Colgate gel is waiting for it to blend with the tooth-brush.It eats away some more time...i take the bucket and go towards bathroom..i realize that i had forgot soap... i go back and pick it up.i run towards the bath room.. luckily one was open. Become 'Adam' once again...for sometime though..I go to my room after the 'Adam' pleasure..change clothes..get formal..its already 9:15...take the stuffs with me and run down the steps towards my "Hardley Davidson" the "Hercules Thriller" zoom at the-speed-of-light towards the mess. 'B-Mess'.Still guessing what the menu would be?? Should i go for bread-omlete or go for eat-what-they-give (We do have choice). I fill my cup with tea decoction and add some milk and some sugar too. Idly-vada.. I put some idly and "TWO ONLY" Vadas..with chutney and sambar. Very thin population in the mornings for breakfast. i mean very less chicks..

The pic above shows the main road which leads to the department......the cross roads..You will find me zooming on this road..

I will post the remaining part in the next write up..Mean while my fav..review, the song review

who can beat these guys..a perfect Psychedelic....listen when u r high...amazing.

Floyd
song: High Hopes
Album: division bell

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the long road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowingT
he endless river
Forever and ever

Blasphemy

True. Howz the pic? I got most coments for my last entry....3 of them......only. The template has been changed and.... ads are supposed to come... what happend yaar...anyways i will check it out.

Research work going on out here. There was a football match organized out here. Teams like 'imaginary madrid' 'lungspool' 'Samba(r) dancers' 'Diegos Desciple''Manchester devided'..etc etc all in all 16 teams in 4 groups and we were ECE (simply 7). Teams consisted of seven members with 2 substitutes. 5 substitutions can be made during the match. 20 min each half and 10 min break.

Fultoo....futball. forward, backward, midfield, right-half ,left-half..etc etc. First match was against hockey team...HOCKEY team??? Yes Hockey team we fought well...but... wish we had donaldo, bagio, rivaldo, dodo....etc etc. Finally we fought, fought until they scored 5 goals. They made mince meat of us, all seven of US (me, sri-ram, ganesh, satyam, goalie, rajesh(prof) , sudhir, chaitanya). By the way we couldn't even open an account. Anyways ther's always next time..

And so we went with full zoom to the playground next day to play our next match...the next chance. Seven of us.Only seven!!! without even a single substitute. I was the goalie (you know to stop the goals) First half 3 goals were scored, wish we had scored it...Looking our state our lab incharge who was watching football offered to play for us. You know what.....we agreed. Second half: 4 goals were scored, again......wish we had scored it. Anyways we fought hard....fought hard to make the ball cross the half line.... but it didn't. Even their goalie scored a goal. As they say "participation is impotent if your not winning".....Ha ha ha....we were made mince meat of the mince meat. But we will not loose courage, as our important players like donaldo, bagio, diego, rivaldo, dodo, me etc etc are heavily preparing for the next match. you know ther's always a next time...you know.. so the next match is on thursday june 30th.

That was the life, futball life....Now the song review... I believe most of you would be little aware of this band called "Amon Amarth", black metal. The lyrics is little bit heavy. Heavy in the sense....well just like the tiltle. check it out...listen to it. It is very heavy and will definetly a head-banger..

God, his son and holy whore

Serpent tongue speaks to me
Of a man from southern land
How ancient Gods are enemies
But I don't understand

Hippocritic voice of love talks of peace and christ
Blasphemer of Gods above
One thousand years of lies

They hold their swords to out throats
And force-feed us with faith
'Bout god, his son and holy whore
But now we retaliate

Prophets of a false believe talk with tongue of ice
Threaten us with hell beneath
Now we retaliate

Turn the blade around, put the oppressors down

Free yourselves from the chains
Of lies that hold you down
Arise to be free again
We'll fight till we have won

Priests of hippocratic love talk of peace and christ
Power is their only goal
Now they all shall die

Turn the blade around, put the oppressors down

Mess with us and you will feel
A pain so true yet so unreal

Yeah, use your hate, uncreate
Christian state will meet its fate

God, his son and holy whore
Now you will meet your fate

...................Guys the song is like that...not to hurt anybody's feelings..

So till next blog....see you guys..

Highway to Hell

So i got the hostel and the mess facility out here. I'm staying in E-67 thats in E-block. Campus as you already know is amazing. people out here talk about research going on in MIT, stanford, what are the new-technology coming up etc etc. There are guys out here who have designed their own chip and sent for fabrication.

All in all there are number of guys working towards breakthrough products. And some of them are out already. check out the ' tortional varactor' a MEMS device. Micro mirros are already designed and simulated, yet to send for fabrication.

So guys that was too much of technical, sorry if i have bored you. Talking about chick....MAN there are some who are awesome. i thought i would get to see only trees..We get to see these chicks when we go out for a coffee or in the Mess. By the way its a co-ed mess, chicks are allowed to eat with us, you know. By the way there are two beverage supplying units ( not a canteen). One is called coffee board and the other a Tea board. The former opens at 9 and closes at 5 whereas the latter opens at 2 and goes on till 2 in the mornining, thats for guys who do night outs.

Talking about prof's. They are a gem of a kind. 100% not the one you get in MIT. Proud to be working along with them. You are not bound to anything, just work with your interest. Of course you have to deliver a product, finally. How many profs have you known who come with cargo pants and T-shirts??? don't ask the profile. As i am not going to tell you that they are 'STANFORD' and 'MIT' guys.Top guys in india. Amazing isn't it. That's what I call "cool".

So you might be wondering why did i choose the title:Initiative?? There is a lot of air about gettogether. When is it man?? tell me.Come on Guys... Lets "ROCK"

And how can I forget my favorite, the song review: I love this band: ACDC, here's one for the gettogether: Cheers

Living easy, living free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too

I'm on the highway to hell

No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me round
Hey Satan, payed my dues
Playing in a rocking band
Hey Momma, look at me
I'm on my way to the promised land

I'm on the highway to hell

And I'm going down, all the way down

I'm on the highway to hell

So shall we make the BeerJointPoint the Hell ???

MIT 2 IISc

There was no write up for about a mmonth and a half, the ads also stopped coming. Anyways here I am with new things and new infos and ofcourse music reviews....

I am in IISc learning how people do research..... Out here they do it on MEMS. that is MicroEletromechanicalSystems i.e building machines in an area of 1000 micons*1000 microns.
Our hair has a diameter of 2 microns.

Working in mit was an experience. met marvin, mani had come once, sharath twice, our kudwa and rab,.... I did give marks and attendence....to students.

Campus of iisc is good or shall i say "greener" in both sense. i will be moving to hostel on monday. once more hostel experience......

Ok song review...not a rock song kinda pop but good one. I think you might have heard about "4 non-blondes" yeah hear their "whats going on" cool song simple lyrics,...Listen to it you will loose all the tension and frustration in your mind...And one more song is our own Eric claptonwa's "sunshine of you life".Listen to both of them. Both are blues... ...Have you heard of RAP METAL?? Thambi's new invention,to be precise "New age Rap Metal"......next time its a rock review.... Lets see i will give a review on heavy metal.

Here it is:

25 years and my life is still
trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this
Brotherhood of man
For whatever that means
And so I cry somethimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out what's in my head
And I'm, I am feeling a little peculiar
So I wake in the morning and I step outside
And I take deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What's goin' on
And I say hey....
And I say hey what's goin' on
And I say hey....
I said hey what's goin' on
And I try, oh my God do I try
I try all the time
In this institution
And I pray, oh my God do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution
And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out what's in my head
And I'm, I am feeling a little peculiar
So I wake in the morning and I step outside
And I take deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
What's goin'on
And I say hey...
And I say hey what's goin' on
And I say hey...
I said hey what's goin' on
And I say hey...
And I say hey what's goin' on
And I say hey...
I said hey what's goin' on
25 years and my life is still
trying to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination

Tsunami

Hi,
You may be wondering why i have kept 'tsunami' as title. Its nothing but to get more page loads. It seems the page with 'tsunami' has been loaded more times than the pondy sites. Anyways, thats not the point.

Once again i am here with the rolls and rocks. Its pretty hard to classify a good rock song since 'beauty lies in the eye of a beholder' similar way you can make a phrase for 'rock song'. I f you are wondering what " du hast" means it is nothing but "you have"(i learnt from german teacher). When macha was sitting in german class, he was the one who pointed this and of course no to mention the explanation of what a 'chastity lock' means( no relation to "du hast").

Lets come to the point. ACDC. If you guys are wondering which rock rong to listen this week, dont hesitate to listen to ACDC, album-'back in black'.Thats what rock is all about. Listen to this. Sounds good also.

rock n' roll aint noise pollution

Hey there, all you middle men.
Throw away your fancy clothes
And while youre out there sittin on a fence
So get off your ass and come down here
'cause rock n roll aint no riddle man
To me it makes good, good sense

Heavy decibels are playing on my guitar
We got vibrations coming up from the floor
Were just listening to the rock thats giving too much noise
Are you deaf, you wanna hear some more

Were just talkin about the future
Forget about the past
Itll always be with us
Its never gonna die, never gonna die

Chorus:
Rock n roll aint noise pollution
Rock n roll aint gonna die
Rock n roll aint no pollution
Rock n roll it will survive

I took a look inside your bedroom door
You looked so good lying on your bed
Well, I asked you if you wanted any rhythm and love
You said you wanna rock n roll instead

Were just talkin about the future
Forget about the past
Itll always be with us
Its never gonna die, never gonna die

Chorus

Rock n roll is just rock n roll

After listning to this try to listen to 'Back in Black' and then follow it up with 'throw some bone to the dog' (check out the exact wordings) i am not sure about the song.

Warning: If you are weak hearted geeks, then try out some " bajan sapori's " or "depressive songs by depressive people".

Translation :

Not a believer inside the mosque, am I
Nor a pagan disciple of false rites
Not the pure amongst the impure
Neither Moses, nor the Pharoh

Says Bulla, who knows who I am!

Not in the holy Vedas, am I
Nor in opium, neither in wine
Not in the drunkard`s craze
Niether awake, nor in a sleeping daze

Says Bulla, who knows who I am!

I am not in the mosque of the believer,
Nor in false rites.
I am not in the pure or the impure.
Neither Moses nor Pharaoh.

Says Bulla, who knows who I am!

I am not in the vedas or holy books,
Not in drug or wine.
Not in the drunkards wasted intoxication,
Not in wakefulness or sleep.

Says Bulla, who knows who I am!

I am not in sorrow nor in joy,
Neither in clean nor unclean.
I am not water, I am not earth,
I am not fire, I am not air.

Says Bulla, who knows who I am!

I am not from Arabia or Lahore,
Nor from India or Nagaur.
Neither a hindu or muslim from Peshawar,
Nor do I live in Nadaun.

Says Bulla, who knows who I am!

I cannot be unearthed in the mysteries of religion.
I was not born of Adam and Eve.
I am not the name I assume.
I am not in stillness, not in movement.

Finally, I only know myself.
I cannot know any other.
Who could be wiser than I?

Bulla asks, who then, stands here?
Says Bulla, who knows who I am!

"Bulla ki jaana" - orginally sung by Baba Bulleh Shah, new rendition by Rabbi Shergil.

Amazing song guys....a must listen.....

Flash Back

The liberation from NITK confinement

On september 5th M'tech Viva Voce ended. 60 gruelling minutes. Among the Audience there were HOD, my guide, zora, external,my classmates and my juniors. I had prepared about 30 slides. It was a ppt presentation. At about 12:45 pm the defence ended with the demonstration of my project. And thatwas the moment when I was liberated from the confinement.

The idle phase

That was really an idle phase, wasn't it? Ok lets come to point. So after i passed out i applied to MIT for lecturing (i did not have any specific interest, neither did i have any flair to see the departments face). Anyways it was for some other reason i chose MIT.

The First Encounter

So i was appointed as lecturer in dept of EE from 15th of Oct onwards. The semester for the students was coming to an end. So hod( RSA) had put me into labs. My fate you may call, I was made to sit along with hpu. And the saga continues where i had left it from final year BE after his MPC class. So that all for the first encounter. Next time i will tell all about the deaprtment lectures , how they are what makes them sadist.... and also what happend during the PE exam... why did so many students flunked.

The making of Beer

Have you ever wondered how the world's most favoured drink ' THE BEER ' is prepared?

Check it.

Beer is traditionally made from malted grains (typically barley), water, hops, and yeast. Some beer styles call for wheat to be mixed with the barley. Some breweries even use corn and/or rice mixed with barley because they are cheaper than barley.

The malted barley is steeped in very hot water (140 - 1580 F) for up to several hours, very much like a cup of tea. This liquid is called the sweet wort. The steeping of the malted barley converts the starches in the barley into fermentable sugars, thus the wort is sweet. The wort is then rinsed from the grains and put into the boiling kettle. The wort is boiled for anywhere from 1 hour to several hours. During the boil, hops are added to impart bitterness to balance the sweetness of the wort. Near the end of the boil, more hops are usually added. These later hops create the nose or flowery aroma in the beer.

The wort is then drained away from the hops and is chilled very quickly and placed into a fermentation tank. Yeast is then pitched into the wort. There are two basic styles of yeast
1) Lager or bottom fermenting yeast
2) Ale or top fermenting yeast
The yeast begins to convert the sugars into alcohol immediately (usually within the hour). After this conversion, some styles of beer call for more hops to be added to impart more hop aroma to the beer. This is called dry hopping.
After proper aging in the fermentation tanks, the liquid can be primed for bottling or kegging. The liquid is primed by adding more fermentable sugar that will produce the carbonation evident in the beer. Some beers are force carbonated by injecting carbon dioxide into the beer under pressure.
Most beers should be enjoyed within three months of bottling, lest they begin to lose their flavor and freshness. Some beers require extensive aging to develop complexity (ex: Thomas Hardy Ale). Yet others are ready to drink immediately but can still improve with age (ex: Chimay Grande Reserve).

So Next time when you take a gulp of the lager, thank me.

Cheers

Gatty

THe Top rock Song

Hi,
To write a song is tough ask. But to write a rock song is tougher. But when the song goes on to become a top rock song then the guy is really 'made for it'. ' Stairway to heaven' is arguably the most heard song ever.Jimmy page Robert Plant, John jones and John Bonham form the Led Zeppelin.

Here is a little piece of article flicked from the net. Hope you like it.

Though Black Sabbath was arguably a more influential band in regards to the history of heavy metal, no hard rock/metal discussion is complete without a mention of Led Zeppelin. Besides recording one of the most popular rock songs of all time ("Stairway To Heaven"), Led Zeppelin's back catalog has served as a blueprint for blues-based hard rock for decades. The list of instantly recognizable hits is staggering: "Whole Lotta Love", "Kashmir", "Communication Breakdown", "The Immigrant Song", "Rock And Roll", and on and on. The band abruptly broke up shortly after the unfortunate death of John Bonham in 1979, the remaining three asserting they could not continue without their drummer.
Led Zeppelin IV was the band's most musically diverse effort to date, featuring everything from the crunching rock of "Black Dog" to the folk of "The Battle of Evermore," as well as "Stairway to Heaven," which found the bridge between the two genres. "Stairway to Heaven" was an immediate radio hit, eventually becoming the most played song in the history of album-oriented radio; the song was never released as a single. Despite the fact that the album never reached number one in America, Led Zeppelin IV was their biggest album ever, selling well over 16 million copies over the next two and a half decades.

BEG, BUY, BORROW or STEAL. You must listen to it.

Enjoy rocking

GATTZ

Hey guys this is Mukku here. And to add to Gatty's AMAZING writup, here is the lyrics of the top rock song :

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who standing looking.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter.

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.
And it makes me wonder.

Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know,
The piper's calling you to join him,
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind.

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

All Along the Watch Tower(jimi Hendx)

Hi,
Jimi Hendrix the prodigy. Jimi Hendrix the mesmeriser. Jimi Hendrix the ..... Well u listen to him. The amazing guitarist lives by his guitar, Swears by it. This much passion about playing guitar probably no one has it, I believe. The song below is rated as the second best rock song of all times. Listen to the lead and solo. Amazing... That's Hendx for you

All Along the Watch Tower(JH):

"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

Time (Pink Floyd)

This is Supposed to be the third Best Rock song. And No wonder that it comes from pink Floyd.
The Lyrics gives an impression of a man who has passed his adulthood. He spent his time doing nothing. Staring at crucial moments of life without giving much thought for his future, and when he realises that he is far behind and there is much more to be achived, he finds that there is no time to do it.

Time
Pink Floyd
(Dark Side Of The Moon)

Ticking away the moments that make up the dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground on your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No-one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun!

(guitar solo)

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death!

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught, or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
